Roles and responsibilities
1. Supervision of Cashier Team:
- Lead Cashier Team: Supervise, train, and mentor cashier staff, ensuring they are properly equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties efficiently.
- Work Schedule Management: Create and manage the shift schedules for the cashier team, ensuring proper staffing levels during peak hours.
- Delegate Tasks: Assign tasks and responsibilities to individual cashiers, including managing peak periods, customer service, and handling complex transactions.
2. Cash Handling and Transaction Monitoring:
- Cash Register Management: Oversee and ensure all cashiers accurately process customer transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and refunds.
- Transaction Accuracy: Monitor and review transactions to ensure accuracy in cash handling, ensuring there are no discrepancies in amounts tendered, change given, or sales recorded.
- Cash Counts: Ensure that cashiers conduct proper cash reconciliations at the start and end of their shifts. Oversee the balancing of cash drawers to ensure cash discrepancies are identified and resolved quickly.
- Secure Cash Handling: Ensure that cash is handled securely and that all company cash handling procedures are followed, reducing the risk of theft, fraud, or errors.
3. Customer Service Excellence:
- Customer Interaction: Assist customers when necessary by resolving complaints, answering questions, and providing exceptional service to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Handling Complex Transactions: Provide support for difficult or complex transactions that cashiers may not be able to process on their own, such as large refunds, price checks, or special requests.
