Be the overarching owner of the retention and crossselling activities of Large Group cases from renewal quotes through new carrier/plan placement and new line enrollment with assigned broker firms for Large Group business. Develop an intimate knowledge of the brokers large group customers and carrier partner capabilities to assist in developing winning retention strategies at the case level.

This could be a remote position for the right candidate; however inperson broker meetings are required so candidates must live in and be licensed in Maryland. REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed both major and minor which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Establish an indepth understanding of our products and processes and how agents/brokers interact with these products and processes.
  • Review renewals and work with BSEs to develop a execute a retention and quoting strategy for each case.
  • Be the primary account management contact for brokers during the life of a large group case; coordinate with carrier account management teams to ensure service issues are addressed timely.
  • Creating and maintaining spreadsheets for large group renewal proposals; providing broker clientready proposals
  • Work in tandem with Sales Executives to effectively service agents/brokers and to encourage them to increase crosssell opportunities and case retention by:
    • Conducting regular followup calls to agents/brokers to understand customer needs and build strategies to meet them.
    • Providing information on carrier administrative procedures and product availability and direction in selecting appropriate group products to renew cases.
    • Review initial renewals and work with BSEs to develop retention strategy and any necessary gotomarket activities.
    • Assisting agents/brokers in presenting our products to clients by attending client/broker renewal meetings as needed; and preparing necessary enrollment documents/benefit booklets for plan changes or new product lines.
  • Adhere to confidentiality standards of information.
  • Occasional long irregular hours during peak times.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Active Life & Health License required.
  • Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 4 years of professional experience in related selling account management or servicing large group benefits.
  • Strong knowledge of large group carrier plan features and benefits for both medical and nonmedical/ancillary plans.
  • Experience with financial and underwriting principles involved with large group plans.
  • Strong knowledge of selffunded levelfunded or alternatefunded plans.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Word Excel and Outlook Exchange; proficient in web browsers specifically Google Chrome.
