Job Description

Job Title Sales Manager Eldoret Branch
Department Commercial BU
Reports to Head of Commercial
Jointly Reports to Category Manager

2.JOB PURPOSE
The Job Holder is responsible for supporting the business lines of our client to grow and develop in a compliant profitable & sustainable way whilst ensuring a high level of customer service by developing and implementing effective sales strategies manage sales personnel and ensuring sales targets and revenue goals are consistently met or exceeded.


3.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Management
Set short medium and longterm sales strategies to assist businesses to meet short & longterm objectives.
Evaluate effectiveness of current customer service programs and recommend service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction.
Analyse market trends customer needs and competitor activities to identify opportunities for business growth.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities including new markets customer segments and partnerships.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with key accounts and strategic partners
Participate in industry events conferences and trade shows to network and promote company products

Financials
Continuously monitor sales budgets to ensure that KPI s are met
Review sales volume and product mix by keeping pace with supply and demand changing trends economic indicators and competition following feedback from sales team & categories.
Set sales objectives for sales team by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and projecting expected sales volume for existing and new products in collaboration with categories.
Ensure sound management and optimize resources to achieve yearly objectives.

Operations
Lead & manage the daytoday planning and execution of the Sales department
Provide ontheground support to the sales team to ascertain business growth through increase in numerical distribution and listing
Follow up of customer complaints and ascertain timely closure of complaints.

Reporting
Prepare and analyse monthly KPI s sales & revenue reports and dashboards
Implement and assess operational KPI s and action on areas of improvement

Customer Relationship Management
Manage monitor and continuously strive to improve the service level provided by team members
Ensure that team members are fully engaged & committed to Service Excellence
Maintain strong and positive relationships with internal and external customers including third parties handle complaints and ensure repeat customers.
Establish and improve processes to improve service level
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers including healthcare providers pharmacies and hospitals
Work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions that meet their requirement

Human Capital
Select recruit manage coach and support team members
Ensure that the responsibilities KPIs and accountabilities for all team members are defined communicated and understood
Manage department efficiency and ensure that the department/s is properly staffed.
Create and maintain a positive and conducive work environment where team members are engaged and willing to perform at maximum capacity.
Ensure department efficiency through proper performance management including setting monitoring and assessing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Assess team members learning & development needs and participate actively in the learning & development plan of team members
Coach team members on Leadership Capabilities (as per IBL Leadership Framework)
Manage employees relations & code of conduct and ensure that there is a positive and conducive work environment in the department/s
Collaborate with Management and Human Capital on HC / Change Management initiatives including but not limited to Great Place to Work Service Excellence Succession plan
Ensure that all health and safety provisions and measures are properly always adhered and complied with
Ensure that team members comply with established policies and procedures company s standard practices as well as legal provisions as per prevailing legislation.

Compliance
Ensure that all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies
Maintain accurate records of sales activities customer interactions and product inventory
Report on sales performance market feedback and competitor activities to senior management.

Requirements

4. Qualifications Skills and other prerequisites

Qualifications
Must have a minimum of a science related academic qualification.
Bachelor s degree Sales & Marketing or relevant business field
A minimum of 10 years experience in pharmaceuticals sales and general medical consumable sales out of which 3 years must have been in a senior leadership role.
Be a strategist with excellent leadership analytical and problemsolving skills
Strong people management skills with high business acumen capacity

Experience
A minimum of 10 years experience in pharmaceuticals sales and general medical consumable sales out of which 3 years must have been in a senior leadership role.

Technical Knowledge & Skills
Ability to adapt to a variety of job descriptions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Outstanding organisational and leadership skills
Good knowledge of MS Office
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical and healthcare industry
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing a successful sales team
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment
