This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining electrical systems of industrial establishments by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned:
- Assemble install test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring equipment appliances apparatus and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Inspect electrical systems equipment and components to identify hazards defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Connects wire to motors fixtures and other electrical equipment replaces switches and fuses and splices wire and insulates wire with friction tape.
- Reads and understands blueprints and 1line drawings.
- Cleans work area tools and equipment.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to high precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.

Education and/or Experience:
Must have industry standard minimum amount of verifiable years of industrial experience or a Journeymans card to prove practice. A Master Electricians license is also permitted and/or any similar combination of education and traderelated work experience. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
Communication Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Qualification:
Must understand working in a union environment and the requirements surrounding that.
