Job Description:The Patient Service Representative at Ascension Saint Agnes provides customer service and administrative support to patients in a medical setting. The role includes greeting patients and visitors checking patients in and out verifying insurance information processing medical records and scheduling appointments. The representative also handles financial tasks such as collecting copayments reconciling reports and submitting charges for patient procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients check them in and out and obtain necessary documentation.
- Verify and enter demographic and insurance information.
- Handle insurance authorizations and precertifications.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Process medical record release requests.
- Collect copayments and reconcile reports for accuracy.
- Provide general office and clerical support as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED (or 1 year of applicable jobspecific experience).
- Previous call center or high call volume experience preferred.
- Experience in the medical field is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment.
