Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to all guests and volunteers
- Maintain a professional positive tone in challenging interactions
- Greet visitors and assist them with questions applications files donations adoptions or returns
- Warmly greet thank and assist volunteers scheduled for daily shifts
- Responsible for using Shelterluv and Salesforce to include entering all adoptions donations and merchandise transactions as well as refunding returns when appropriate and reconciling the drawer at the end of each shift.
- Complete daily data entry of adoptions DNA and QPO lists with strong attention to detail
- Answer phones voicemails and emails
- Ensure the lobby is neat adopter food bags are stocked and marketing materials are displayed
- Schedule returns and assist with the return process
- Complete opening and closing tasks for the Welcome Center/Adoption Desk
- First point of contact for strays and returns responsible for ensuring the appropriate individuals are notified and when appropriate starting the paperwork process.
- Creation and maintenance of animal profiles on the website
- Screen applications and determine whether candidates comply with prerequisites for adoption and are suitable for pet ownership
- Review animals medical files and discuss behavioral traits health history and lifestyle needs of specific animals with potential adopters.
- Counsel adopters on proper cat and dog care training requirements and the organizations policies and expectations before finalizing adoption agreements. and complete Adoption Counseling when Volunteer Counselors are not available
- Assist adopters with scheduling appointments as applicable for dogs with special training needs
- Perform opening and closing duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel Word and Outlook
