Role: Automation Contract Engineer (Ansible)
Location: Houston TX
Work Authorization: USC GC H4EAD H1B Transfer & GCEAD
Job Type: Onsite but would be open to remote Strong Preference for Houston Texas
Tax Term: W2/1099 (Only)
Job Description:
Key Skills Required:
- Minimum 3 years of handson Ansible experience
- Over 5 years of expertise in routers and switches
- Skilled in creating and utilizing Ansible playbooks for network automation with a solid 3 years of direct experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools
- Familiarity with SolarWinds
- Understanding of Riverbed technology
Job Overview:
We are looking for a Network Automation Engineer to support our Network Monitoring Team in automating key network processes. Strong expertise in Ansible is mandatory; candidates with Chef or Puppet experience will not be considered. The ideal candidate is adept at network automation particularly within orchestration frameworks and has a good grasp of scripting and programming.
This role will report to a serverside Ansible expert focusing primarily on network automation. Serverside assistance will be available when necessary.
Key Duties:
- Develop custom Ansible playbooks geared towards network automation
- Gather and manage configuration and backup details for network infrastructure
- Automate crucial network tasks such as router and switch configuration VLAN setup SNMP monitoring and routing protocols
- Utilize Ansible playbooks to manage devices from vendors like H3C Aruba Palo Alto Networks and F5
Role Summary:
The Automation Engineer will create and maintain automated solutions for a variety of systems and processes. Collaborating with engineers developers testers and other stakeholders this role focuses on the efficiency and dependability of automation initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
- Design develop test and deploy automation for web applications databases network infrastructure and baremetal setups
- Identify and evaluate automation opportunities recommending the best solutions for the organization
- Create and maintain automation frameworks and scripts using Ansible Digital Rebar Python and GitHub
- Troubleshoot and refine automated solutions to ensure dependability
- Monitor and evaluate automation performance providing recommendations for improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or related field
- Proficiency in automation tools like Ansible Digital Rebar Python and GitHub
- Basic understanding of client OS and BIOS fundamentals
- Preferred experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Strong track record in designing developing testing and deploying automation solutions across varied systems
