Match invoices and/or delivery slips to purchase order, comparing prices, quantities ordered, received and billed.
Prepare weekly check runs, get appropriate signatures, mail vendor checks, and file check copies and paid invoices alphabetically.
Research vendor inquiries as required.
Code vendor invoices, obtain approval of account coding from Director of Finance, and enter into the Scala accounting system.
Set up accounts with vendors as necessary
Provide phone assistance and light administrative duties to staff as necessary.
Comply with Four Seasons Category One and Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
Team Supervision and Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff, providing guidance, feedback, and performance evaluations.
Allocate tasks and set priorities to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting activities.
Ensure that the accounting team is well-equipped to handle daily, monthly, and yearly accounting tasks.
Foster a positive team environment, encouraging collaboration and professional development.
Financial Reporting:
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Review financial reports and statements for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
Ensure all accounting entries are properly recorded and reconciled to reflect the true financial position of the company.
Coordinate the preparation and submission of reports to management and regulatory authorities.
General Ledger Management:
Review and maintain the general ledger, ensuring that all accounts are properly reconciled.
Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring that all journal entries are made accurately and in a timely manner.
Ensure the correct application of accounting principles for transactions, including revenue recognition, accruals, and expense allocations.
High School Education.
Experience
Must have a minimum of two-four years accounting experience.
Skills
Skills and Abilities:
Must possess good people skills and be able to interact with all levels of employees and customers.
Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proven ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at the same time.
Strong computer and math skills required.
Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
Proficient in the use of a personal computer and various software programs including MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point.
Leadership and Team Management: Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage an accounting team effectively.
Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements or corrective actions.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with regulations.
