Information Systems Security Engineer

Northwest Talent Solutions is a leading Technology Finance and Healthcare staffing/recruiting and HR/DEI consulting firm partnering with outstanding clients within the private industry and public sector. Currently we are partnered with a preferred client in the government sector in search of a highly talented Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support a nationally significant program.

Job Summary:

Join a dynamic team of Security Engineers working on solving challenging issues within a complex system environment. This role focuses on providing security engineering expertise for adding new capabilities to systems with exacting interface performance and security requirements. The position requires a deep understanding of security practices and policies handson vulnerability testing experience and the ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and technical experts.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Validate and verify system security requirements and establish security designs for largescale systems
• Identify and implement information security architectures to ensure uniform application of security policy
• Assess and mitigate system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle
• Lead security planning assessment risk analysis and certification activities
• Collaborate with internal technical experts and communicate with Program Managers
• Participate in program increment planning and agile team activities
• Work with System Engineering Test Engineering and Integration teams
• Analyze system implementation against security compliance policies
• Evaluate impact of new development on operational security posture
• Conduct security verification testing of relevant type 1 devices
• Manage and enforce security strategies for geographically distributed systems

Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance with FullScope Polygraph required
• Current CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification required
• ISSEP (Information Systems Security Engineering Professional) certification required
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Assurance or related field preferred
• 10 years of experience in information security engineering
• Experience applying Risk Management Framework
• Demonstrated experience with security tools (Nessus NMAP Wireshark)
• Strong background in Defense in Depth Principals/technology
• Experience with secure configurations of desktop and server operating systems

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Expert knowledge of information security architectures and implementation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment
• Experience with penetration testing tools
• Proficiency in scripting languages
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Experience with security compliance and risk assessment methodologies
