Job Summary:
Our client a leader in Enterprise Security and Cloud Computing solutions for large organizations is seeking a mid to seniorlevel Network Engineer to join their highperforming agile team. This role will support a nationally significant and fastpaced program using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology. The ideal candidate will be responsible for router/switch/firewall configuration and security management in a complex geographically dispersed IT environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Configure and manage routers switches and firewalls from various manufacturers
- Plan and design network components/configurations for large complex IT systems
- Engineer solutions for expanding capacity improving response time and streamlining network operations
- Monitor and analyze missioncritical networks and servers
- Set up and maintain security management and application performance optimization functions
- Provide network administration support for development deployment and problem resolution
- Execute and manage information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system security scanning
- Plan and manage system installations and upgrades for networks and servers
- Propose design test and install new network capabilities
- Provide written and inperson status updates to leadership
- Respond to system issues on an oncall basis when necessary
Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with FSP
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related field (preferred)
- 8 years of related experience
- Extensive experience with hardware/software from Cisco Palo Alto and F5 Systems
- Strong background in providing analysis root cause diagnosis and troubleshooting for network equipment
- Experience with various vendor networking products (switches routers firewalls etc.)
- Excellent analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Selfstarter capable of working independently and within a team
- Ability to provide limited afterhours support
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in Cisco Nexus/Catalyst/ASA/ISR/XE McAfee Sidewinder PaloAlto Juniper
- Understanding of IPSEC NAT SCP TFTP protocols
- Experience with KG175 and/or KG255 configuration and deployment (preferred)
- Familiarity with Solarwinds or similar network monitoring applications (preferred)
- Experience with VMWare 7 or higher usage and network configuration (preferred)
- Commitment to adopting and adhering to best practices including compliance with maintenance windows and change control procedures
