Job Description

Weave Creativity and Practical Skills into the Curriculum

A vibrant girls school in Acton West London seeks a passionate and creative Design & Technology Teacher with a specialism in Textiles. This fulltime permanent position commencing in January 2025 offers a fantastic opportunity to inspire a love of design and making and equip students with valuable practical skills in a supportive and empowering learning environment.

The Role:

  • Inspire and Engage: Deliver engaging and differentiated Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 with a focus on Textiles.
  • ProjectBased Learning: Guide students through exciting design projects encouraging them to develop their creativity technical skills and problemsolving abilities.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the planning and delivery of a dynamic and enriching Design & Technology curriculum that incorporates current industry practices and sustainable design principles.
  • Pastoral Involvement: Play an active role in the pastoral care of students supporting their wellbeing and personal development.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified Teacher: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a genuine passion for Design & Technology education.
  • Subject Expertise: Demonstrate a strong understanding of textile design principles techniques and materials.
  • Engaging Educator: Employ innovative teaching methods to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Work effectively within a team and contribute to the overall success of the Design & Technology department.
