Job Description

The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Support Technician to work in Prof. Carles Bos research group. This position will be funded by the project OSCARS01479.

ICIQ is one of the worlds internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas: Sustainable Catalysis Renewable Energy and Health. The institute also aims at training the future generation of scientists by offering highquality educational programs to master PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (full details on ).

ICIQ is looking for one Junior Software Developer to work in the Oscars project in the development of GUIs for Web applications and computational workflows.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The candidate will develop Graphical User Interfaces for Web applications and computational workflows. Documentation of the new codes and creation of user manuals.

Requirements:

  • CFGS (Desenvolupament daplicacions web) or equivalent or superior
  • Programming skills:
    Strong understanding on HTML CSS and Singlepage applications (SPA)
    JavaScript language jQuery toolkit
    Interactive & Responsive Design: Bootstrap toolkit
    Familiarity with UI/UX Principles

Valued qualities:

  • Proficiency with content composition design prototyping
  • Open to learning new technologies frameworks and best practices
  • He/she should be a motivated openminded highly dynamic and a team player.
  • Proven good knowledge of English (written and oral).
  • Capable of working in a team decision making creative thinking and problem solving.
  • Strong commitment for scientific research in a competitive environment.
  • Good communication skills

We Offer:

  • A temporary fulltime employment contract linked to the project OSCARS01479.
  • Remuneration according to individuals qualification/experience
  • Annual salary split into twelve monthly payments.
  • Incorporation: January 2025.

Selection Process

ICIQs selection process usually entails the following phases:

  • Preselection: The preselection process will be based on qualifications and expertise as reflected on the candidates CVs.
  • Interview & practical exercise: Preselected candidates will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager of the position and the appointed Selection Committee. The interview will include a practical scientific glass blowing exercise at ICIQ.
  • Offer Letter:Once the successful candidate is selected the People Unit will extend a Job Offer specifying the start day salary and overall job conditions.
