Innovation & Business Development Directorate
VHIR offers a vacant position for an Innovation Administrativeto join the Innovation team and provide close support to the unit in the development of healthcare innovative solutions. The Innovation unit mission is to transform excellence in research and clinical care into new products services and processes that improve patient experience and population health and reduce the costs of providing healthcare services.
In recent years VHIR has developed a new innovation and business development model that has enabled to accelerate the translation of research findings into clinical practice. The principles of this model are the foundation of VHIRs approach to innovation and technology transfer: collaboration entrepreneurship and impact. As a result in the last years 13 technologies have been licensed and 11 new spinoffs and startups have been created which have generated more than 60 jobs raised more than 62M investment and over 20M in competitive funds and have a market value of 450M.
To consolidate publicprivate relationships the new VHIR building (to be finished in September 2024) will have 800 m2 exclusively dedicated to create an Innovation Hub. This space is designed as a place for cocreation where researchers and companies can work closely together in a real clinical and academic environment with the aim of transforming the collaboration model and bringing industry and research even closer together.
The success of VHIRs innovation and business development model has positioned the organization as a leader in biomedical research and a key contributor to the development of new therapies and technologies that have the potential to improve patient outcomes and transform healthcare. As VHIR continues to refine and improve its innovation and business development model it is poised to make even greater contributions to the field of biomedical research and to society as a whole.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Technician in Life Sciences Administration or Engineering (FPII / CFGS orequivalent)
- Specific training in Intellectual Property
- Accredited Functional Diversity Certificate from 33%
- Good level of Catalan and Spanish both written and spoken.
- Good level of understanding of English.
Desired:
- Experience managing innovation projects in technology transfer departments or units.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Excellence in the use of Power BI: at least 3 years of experience with Power BI
- High knowledge on office automation and Microsoft Office especially Excel
- Knowledge of the innovation system in the Biomedical Research sector.
Desired:
- Knowledge of the Health Sector preferably Biomedical Research or private company in the Biomedical sector.

Main responsibilities and duties:
- Organize meetings and conferences: coordination of agendas reservation of rooms preparation of documentation preparation of agendas writing of minutes management of registrations travel accommodation etc.
- Maintain an updated record of the status of the Innovation Asset Portfolio.
- Manage the documentation data and indicators derived from the units activity (patents licenses contracts certificates reports and vouchers invoices support in grant applications...).
- Manage the portfolio of intangibles and Intellectual Property protection.
- Coordinate the agenda and necessary documentation for the correct development of the meetings of the Portfolio Committee.
- Manage the units communication (mailboxes newsletter press releases...).
- Support all those tasks in your area of action that are entrusted to you by your manager.
- Ensure that the activities are carried out in accordance with the requirements established in the Units quality system procedures promote and implement continuous improvement in its scope of action.
Labour conditions:
- Fulltime position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: as soon as possible
- Gross annual salary:Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale
