Job Description
Position Summary
The Financial Reporting Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with local and international accounting standards. This role involves preparing analyzing and presenting financial statements ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting decisionmaking by providing detailed financial insights. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills in financial reporting thorough knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and experience with ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare and review monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and GAAP.
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger including supporting documentation and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and financial reporting standards.
Consolidation and Intercompany Transactions:
- Perform financial statement consolidation for multiple entities handling inter company eliminations foreign currency translations and adjustments as necessary.
- Manage inter company transactions ensuring proper treatment and alignment with company policies.
Financial Analysis and Variance Reporting:
- Conduct variance analysis on financial results explaining key deviations from the budget and prior periods.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities providing insights into financial performance.
Audit and Compliance Support:
- Coordinate with external auditors preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Ensure timely and accurate responses to audit inquiries and implement audit recommendations.
Data Management & Reporting Automation:
- Leverage ERP systems and data visualization tools to streamline reporting processes and automate recurring reports.
Policy and Procedure Development:
- Develop document and maintain accounting policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency in reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve reporting processes and compliance controls.
Finance Business Partnership:
- Work closely with crossfunctional teams to ensure financial data accuracy and provide guidance on financial transactions.
- Present complex financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; ACA ACCA or relevant certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting with a solid understanding of IFRS and GAAP standards.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (such as Sage Odoo QB Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial analysis and variance reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with a strong commitment to compliance and data integrity.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain financial data to nonfinancial stakeholders.
- Experience with financial audits and working with external auditors is an advantage.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in technology or fastpaced industries.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
