Job Title: Facilitator for SemiVerbal Neurodivergent child Stellenbosch
We are seeking an experienced compassionate and playful liveout facilitator to join a family and support a wonderful autistic 9yearold boy with limited speech. The ideal candidate will have experience working with autistic children and teaching and must be able to take the lead in managing the curriculum focusing on both academic development and essential life skills.
Main Purpose of the job:
To offer personalised daily guidance and support ensuring he receives tailored learning opportunities that caters to his specific and unique needs. A special interest and passion in neurodiversity and being a secure longterm source of support are of the utmost importance.
The candidate will be trained by the NDC Facilitation Academy and thereafter receive personalised support from a registered counsellor for up to 46 weeks working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
General Requirements:
A valid driver s license driving experience and a clean driving record Essential.
Basic Afrikaans language skills Essential.
Computer fluency Essential.
Job Objectives:
Becoming a core member of the multidisciplinary team to support his individual needs if and when needed.
Providing companionship and emotional support for him at home.
Support and scaffolding for his regulation needs (lessening any uncertainty and anxiety).
To carry out duties such as facilitating school and learning activities and taking him on outings and to appointments.
JobRelated work experience:
Previous experience in a role supporting neurodivergent children Essential.
Previous experience in teaching Essential.
Familiarity with special education strategies curriculum adaptation and life skills training Essential.
JobRelated Knowledge:
Familiarity with low arousal childled neuroaffirming approach Essential.
Knowledge of alternative communication tools and experience in supporting nonverbal or semiverbal communication Essential.
Ability to lead in both structured and unstructured learning environments balancing academic and life skill teaching Essential.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with the family and other support systems Essential.
Flexible and adaptable able to adjust to the child s needs and family s schedule Essential.
Relevant certifications or qualifications in education special education psychology or related fields Essential.

Working hours:

Salary negotiable depending on qualifications and previous experience.
Reimbursement of travel cost at AA rates.

Education
Familiarity and knowledge of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) - Essential. Familiarity with low arousal, child-led, neuro-affirming approach - Essential. Knowledge of alternative communication tools and experience in supporting non-verbal or semi-verbal communication. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to building a trusting, supportive relationship with the child. Ability to lead in both structured and unstructured learning environments, balancing academic and life skill teaching.
