Position: Sales Tax Accountant
Location: Melville NY (Hybrid Schedule)
About the Role
Our client a wellestablished leader in the Imaging and Office Equipment industry is seeking a detailoriented Sales Tax Accountant. This role offers a unique hybrid schedule with oneweek inoffice per month providing both flexibility and handson collaboration with our finance team. As a Sales Tax Accountant youll play a critical role in managing the companys multistate sales tax compliance while contributing to the broader financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare review and file multistate sales and use tax returns using Vertex ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.
- Conduct indepth research on tax regulations for products and services to maintain compliance and minimize liabilities.
- Collaborate with the finance team to implement efficient tax practices and reduce the overall tax burden.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting (CPA designation is a plus).
- Experience: 35 years of multistate sales tax accounting experience with a strong understanding of sales and use tax compliance.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Vertex Returns or similar tax management systems.
- Familiarity with Oracle and Tableau is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Soft Skills: Selfmotivated with the ability to work independently and interact effectively across teams.
Work Schedule
This role is primarily remote with a requirement to be in the office for one week each month (preferably before the 20th) to collaborate and align with key stakeholders.
