Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: Sterling VA
Position need to be local with commuting distance to Sterling Virginia.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan manage and execute course of relatively large and/or complex project(s) providing daytoday management and oversight following established project management methodology
- Identify track and resolve project interdependencies and related execution issues/risks
- Actively engage key stakeholders
- Develop and manage work breakdown structure for multiple projects
- Track course of project from meetings
- Report on progress of project to include milestones resources and financials
- Facilitate track and manage changes to scope and requirements through established change management process
- Track project artifacts (e.g. scope changes defects) using JIRA
- Collaborate and maintain working relationships with appropriate technology vendor contacts and peer company contacts
Required Skills and Experience:
- Eight or more years of managing complex system implementation involving 3rd party vendors and multiple system integrations and internal development.
- Has strong agile and waterfall experience. Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as proficient knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
- Expert in JIRA and Microsoft project
- Very much detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate and drive teams toward delivering and achieving goals
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple highpriority tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate at strategic and tactical levels
- Ability to communicate effectively with business partners developers and end users
- Process analysis and systematic thinking
- Ability to prioritize among a large number of requirements
- Financial services experience strongly preferre
