As the Assistant Person in Charge (APIC) you will be instrumental in overseeing the operations of our nursing home ensuring that our residents receive the highest standards of care and engaging activities. Collaborating closely with the Person in Charge (PIC) you will help manage staff and uphold regulatory requirements. Central to your role will be the cultivation of respectful and equitable relationships with residents.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the PIC in the absence of the Person in Charge ensuring compliance with health regulations and standards
- Assist the PIC in the overall management and operations of the Nursing Home
- Provide leadership and clinical supervision to staff enhancing care standards and team morale
- Create and maintain a supportive residential environment for residents
- Safeguard residents from abuse or neglect reporting any concerns appropriately
- Ensure adequate staffing levels for highquality care delivery
- Serve as a resource to nursing staff in care planning and implementation
- Flexibility to work day night and weekend shifts as needed
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Thirdlevel degree in Nursing
- Registered with An Bord Altranais with an active PIN
- Valid certifications in areas such as infection control manual handling and medication management
- Postregistration qualification in healthcare management or equivalent (or willingness to undergo training)
- Postregistration qualification in Gerontology or Dementia Care is desirable
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of postregistration nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a nursing home setting
- Desirable: At least 1 year of management experience
- Proven ability to lead motivate and support a team effectively
- Clinical competence and dedication to delivering exceptional care to older individuals
