Job Description

Environmental Officer Gauteng

Our Client provides expert environmental and emergency response services specializing in spill containment hazardous waste management and industrial cleaning. Serving industries like manufacturing petrochemical and mining They ensure safe compliant and ecofriendly solutions with a focus on regulatory standards and sustainability.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the company complies with relevant environmental legislation
  • Management of environmental emergency incidents
  • Management of historical contamination
  • Management of uncontained spillages
  • Providing internal environmental guidance and recommendations
  • Conduct site visits collecting data to establish a baseline condition for levels of pollution or contamination for a site or areas of consideration
  • Technical Report
  • Communicating with clients regulators and subcontractors
  • Adhoc duties

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Experience with Environmental/Contamination Site assessments
  • Environmental Science/Geohydrology/Geology degree
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel Word and SharePoint
  • Own Vehicle
  • Detailed experience and knowledge of the relevant Acts is beneficial
  • National Environmental Management Act (Act No. 107 of 1998)
  • National Environmental Management: Waste Act (Act No. 59 of 2008)
  • National Water Act (Act No. 36 of 1998)
