Job Title: Canoe Paddler Seasonal

Hourly Rate: $25.11

Share your passion for culture with our guests and be their trusted guide as they visit the island we call home. As a Canoe Paddler you will take our guests on a cultural journey provide a different view of the island and help create memorable experiences.

What you will be doing:

• Assist trained paddler in taking up to four guests in a Hawaiian Outrigger canoe paddling for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour at a time
• Be knowledgeable of Hawaiian culture and perform chant ceremony both before and after canoe experience
• Assist in maintaining and cleaning all pertinent equipment i.e. paddles canoe etc.
• Inform registered guests about safety flags ocean conditions and safety precautions
• Enforces all beach safety rules seeking assistance from Supervisor or Security if required
• Refers Guests to Activity agents or Concierge for additional needs or requests
• Maintain atmosphere of aloha spirit by providing engaging personalized timely and efficient service to our discerning guests
• Share the true spirit of aloha with our guests by connecting them with the rich history of Hawaiis culture people and traditions

Qualifications :

Your experience and skills include:

• Previous experience in paddling and swimming is required
• Must be able to withstand very warm and sunny conditions
• Must be able to speak read write and understand the English language
• Must be knowledgeable in Hawaiian Culture and language
• Requires good communication skills both verbal and written
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process

Your working environment:

• Must be able to lift and carry 150 lbs.
• Must be able to push and pull 150 lbs.
• Occasional standing walking and reaching
• Occasional lifting/carrying pushing and pulling
• Occasional crouching bending stooping and kneeling

Licenses or Certificates          

• CPR/First Aid and Water Safety certification is required
