Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


A doorman is the first impression of a hotel when a guest arrives, you are to portray a positive image representing the brand. Your main responsibilites are to provide a warm welcome to the guests and providing professional assistance where required. Tasks include assisting guests with their bags and luggage, arranging their transportation and answering their queries.

In order to do this you will need to have complete and up to date knowledge of hotel products and services, local surroundings and points of interest
Guest Reception:

Greet guests warmly as they arrive at the hotel or resort, offering a friendly welcome and making them feel comfortable.
Open doors for guests, assisting them with entering and exiting the premises, and ensuring a safe and courteous experience.
Help guests with luggage, guiding them to the front desk or transportation as necessary.
Acknowledge repeat guests and VIPs, ensuring they feel recognized and valued.
Assist with Luggage Handling:

Assist guests with unloading and loading their luggage from vehicles, ensuring that their belongings are handled with care.
Store and retrieve luggage in a safe and organized manner for guests checking in or out.
Provide special assistance to guests with large or heavy luggage, ensuring comfort and safety.
Provide Information & Directions:

Provide guests with directions to hotel amenities, dining areas, restrooms, or any other relevant locations within the hotel or resort.
Offer helpful local information, such as details about nearby attractions, transportation options, or recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing.
Answer any basic questions guests may have regarding hotel services, check-in procedures, or other general inquiries.
Transportation Assistance:

Assist guests with transportation arrangements, including calling taxis, shuttles, or arranging other forms of local transportation.
Help guests with car services, including coordinating valet parking or notifying staff of a guest’s vehicle arrival.
Ensure safe and efficient vehicle arrivals and departures, monitoring traffic flow near the entrance and guiding guests appropriately.
Safety & Security:

Monitor and maintain security at the hotel entrance, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter the property.
Report any suspicious activities, vehicles, or behavior to hotel security personnel to ensure guest safety.
Ensure the hotel’s entrances, exits, and surrounding areas are clean, clear of obstructions, and safe for both guests and staff.


Desired candidate profile


A focus on customer service
Effective verbal and written English communication. Foreign languages are an advantage
Able to work irregular hours and shifts, including weekends and public holidays
A friendly and cheerful disposition, and patient
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with guests and team members.
Strong customer service orientation, with a friendly and helpful attitude.
Physical fitness to assist with carrying or moving luggage and standing for extended periods.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of local attractions, transportation, and general area information to assist guests effectively.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle situations professionally.
Personal Attributes:

Professional appearance and grooming, adhering to the hotel’s dress code and standards.
Team player with a willingness to collaborate with other hotel departments.
