Are you a motivated detailoriented leader ready to drive the success of our operations We re looking for a dynamic Operations Terminal Manager to oversee and enhance our transportation operations ensuring safety efficiency and profitability.


What You ll Do:
  • Lead Motivate and Develop a HighPerforming Team: Supervise a dedicated team of drivers logistics specialists clerical staff and operations supervisors. Youll drive a culture of teamwork and accountability focusing on professional growth and high engagement through coaching performance evaluations and reward programs. Conduct training sessions to ensure employees understand their roles and responsibilities setting them up for success.

  • Maximize Operational Efficiency: Leverage company assets including tractors trailers and CDL drivers to optimize operational performance. Use your expertise to enhance route efficiency manage schedules and ensure that resources are allocated to meet and exceed safety financial and service targets.

  • Ensure Compliance and Safety Standards: Actively enforce compliance with DOT OSHA and CTPAT regulations adhering to all safety and operational standards. Conduct regular safety checks administer HOS (Hours of Service) rules and oversee accident and incident investigations collaborating with the Director of Safety to maintain the highest safety standards.

  • Strengthen Customer Relationships: Serve as the primary contact for terminal customers working closely with them to address their needs and maintain high satisfaction levels. Your role includes building rapport anticipating client requirements and quickly resolving any issues to foster longterm partnerships.

  • Monitor and Drive Key Performance Metrics: Track and manage KPIs for drivers and terminal operations to ensure performance meets company standards. Analyze data identify areas for improvement and make strategic adjustments to drive productivity profitability and service excellence.

  • Conduct Field Checks and Performance Assessments: Perform ridealongs with drivers to gather insights into route performance validate adherence to safety protocols and identify opportunities for improvement. Use these assessments to ensure drivers are aligned with best practices and company expectations.

  • Oversee Facility and Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment vehicles and terminal infrastructure are in top working condition. You ll manage relationships with leasing companies vendors and repair services to ensure timely and costeffective solutions.

  • Administer Payroll and Time Management: Oversee payroll accuracy and timekeeping for your team ensuring timely submission and addressing any payrollrelated issues. Coordinate employee scheduling including vacation and timeoff requests to maintain seamless operations.

  • Support Hiring and Talent Acquisition: Participate in the recruitment process by interviewing candidates and coordinating with HR on hiring decisions. Youll also handle disciplinary actions as needed ensuring a team aligned with the companys values and goals.

  • Maintain and Improve Terminal Infrastructure: Oversee the upkeep of terminal facilities including buildings grounds and supplies. Ensure that the work environment is organized wellmaintained and conducive to safe and efficient operations.

  • Implement Best Practices for Quality and Compliance: Enforce adherence to ISO certification standards (ISO 9001:2015 ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 45001). Regularly review processes and standards to uphold these certifications and ensure continuous quality improvements across terminal operations.

  • Champion Communication and Team Cohesion: Foster open transparent communication among team members and across departments to keep everyone aligned on goals and expectations. Lead meetings provide regular updates and encourage feedback to cultivate a collaborative and motivated team environment.

Requirements

What Were Looking For:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor s degree in Management Transportation Logistics or a related field is preferred. Alternatively an Associate s degree combined with 8 years of experience in operations or terminal management will be considered.

  • Industry Experience: 5 years in a transportation operations role with demonstrated experience managing assets and a team within a fastpaced logistics or terminal management environment.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel Word PowerPoint SharePoint Teams OneDrive) and transportation management software such as TMW Peoplenet SpeedGauge Rand McNally and PCMiler. Experience with inventory tracking systems and time clock management software is a plus.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations DOT compliance and CTPAT best practices. Familiarity with OSHA standards and ISO certifications (ISO 9001:2015 ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 45001) is beneficial.

  • Leadership & People Management: Proven track record of successfully leading teams resolving conflicts and fostering a highengagement culture. Experience in interviewing training and developing associates while promoting accountability and teamwork.

  • Analytical & ProblemSolving Skills: Ability to analyze KPIs productivity metrics and operational challenges to make datadriven decisions. Strong problemsolving skills to effectively address issues with equipment schedules or team performance.

  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to represent the company positively to customers partners and the public. Skilled in building and maintaining customer relationships.

  • Organization & Multitasking: Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends holidays and travel as needed based on business demands.
