About Role:
Our client a leader in postcombustion carbon capture technology is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to support their growth and financial strategy. This role will focus on accurate recordkeeping cash flow reporting and providing actionable financial analysis to drive performance. As a critical member of the accounting team you ll collaborate with crossfunctional teams and interact with leadership to support an innovative carbon capture company based in Houston TX.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Maintain accurate financial records reconcile accounts prepare monthly financial statements and analyze variances to provide insights for decisionmaking.
- Working Capital Management: Oversee cash flow management optimize working capital and manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Invoicing & Disbursements: Ensure timely invoicing for commercial customers and the Department of Energy (DOE) while managing disbursements and maintaining supporting documentation.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Participate in annual budgeting and continuous forecasting collaborating with key stakeholders to identify revenue opportunities and cost savings.
- Process Improvement & Compliance: Enhance financial processes ensure US GAAP and DOE compliance and coordinate with external auditors.
- CrossDepartment Collaboration: Partner with project and corporate managers to develop metrics and provide insights for informed decisionmaking.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (CPA CMA or similar designation preferred)
- 45 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting or private experience preferred)
- Proficiency in US GAAP financial reporting budgeting and forecasting
- Expertise in NetSuite required; QuickBooks knowledge a plus
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with MS365 collaboration tools
- Exceptional analytical organizational and communication skills with an ability to explain complex data clearly to nonfinancial personnel
