ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain an assigned section of staterooms and corridors in a clean and orderly manner by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:
2. Responsible for cost containment through the proper use, handling and maintenance and distribution of chemicals, supplies, equipment, stateroom amenities and consumable items.
3. Follows all daily, weekly, and monthly stateroom, bathroom, balcony, and corridor cleaning procedures to ensure standards are met.
4. Aware of and acquire the necessary knowledge to comply with the ship’s standard operation, to assist guests and crewmembers with inquiries.
5. Maintains current knowledge of the ship’s regular events and special functions by reviewing all available data, including the daily newsletter, to provide guests with accurate information to answer questions.
6. Responsible to make beds, clean the bathroom, stateroom room and balcony in accordance with the “Save the Waves” program and following USPH (United States Public Health) guidelines.
7. Ensure that soiled linen and terry are sorted in linen bags as prescribed, ready for Linen-runner to collect and return to the laundry.
8. Empties and segregates trash and garbage and places it in designated containers.
9. Dust furniture, clean walls, ceiling, woodwork, wash windows, door panels, clean carpet, upholstery, floors, ceilings, draperies, windows, and room accessories. Sweep, scrub, and vacuum. Spray or fog carpet, upholstery, and accessories with fabric conditioners and protectors, deodorizers, and disinfectants.
10. Ensure that all glasses in the bathroom and stateroom are washed in the Dishwasher during every service. Replenishes daily supplies such as towels, amenities, stationary supplies.
11. Ensure that mini bar items are replaced daily by the Private Bar and that the receipt is presented in a Folder to the guest and sign docket handed back to Private Bar.
12. Receive guest laundry and dry cleaning and transport to laundry for processing. Return cleaned laundry to guest's stateroom and presents laundry bills.
13. Delivers canapés to the guest staterooms as requested.
Requirements for the position include previous experience in housekeeping or a similar service-oriented role, preferably within the hospitality or cruise industry. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment are essential. Flexibility, good time management, and the ability to work as part of a team are also crucial. A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to exceptional customer service are key attributes for success in this role. Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus.
