As a Partner Marketing Manager at WooCommerce, your role is integral to driving the growth of the platform through strategic partnerships. You will act as the bridge between our technology partners, business development team, marketing, and other stakeholders within WooCommerce, with a focus on delivering a seamless end-to-end commerce experience for our users.
In this position, you will own the development, execution, and management of partner marketing programs and campaigns that align with WooCommerce’s broader objectives. Your primary responsibility will be to foster strong relationships with key partners, working closely with them to define mutual growth goals and develop co-marketing initiatives. By leveraging a combination of owned, partner, and external channels, you’ll ensure that our partners are effectively promoted to WooCommerce’s diverse user base.
Your day-to-day work will involve setting strategic goals in consultation with partners, coordinating with WooCommerce's channel specialists, and managing the execution of marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for overseeing projects from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met, and tracking the performance of marketing programs to measure return on investment. Your ability to provide data-driven insights and reports will be critical in demonstrating the effectiveness of campaigns to internal and external stakeholders.
Collaboration is key in this role. You’ll work closely with the business development team to negotiate marketing agreements, ensuring that mutual marketing development funds (MDFs) and contractual obligations are clearly defined and met. Your proactive approach will also be essential in identifying new opportunities for reciprocal marketing efforts with partners, helping to maximize the visibility and impact of joint campaigns.
An important aspect of your role will be to keep the broader strategic picture in mind, ensuring that all marketing activities are rooted in customer empathy and are aligned with Automattic’s holistic goals. You’ll be expected to contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, keeping an eye on emerging trends and opportunities within the digital commerce landscape.
To be successful in this role, you should have extensive experience in digital and channel marketing, particularly with small and medium-sized businesses in sectors like SaaS, fintech, or e-commerce. Your background should include hands-on experience executing multi-channel digital marketing campaigns and working directly with channel partners to craft effective marketing strategies and messaging. Strong analytical skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of digital marketing channels such as email, display advertising, paid search, and content marketing.
