Project Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating and controlling the execution of the project in accordance with Client requirements and objectives, within time and cost constrain and in observance of HSE and Quality procedures and practices
• Support the Project Manager in coordinating specific technical and management topics (i.e. project internal and external interface management, contractual document issue and review, project activities planning, data analysis and reporting preparation, subcontractor and supplier management, Project Record Books preparation, Spare Parts management, certifications collection, supplier payments, etc.)

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage reporting to the PM for specific activities of the project services as case by case defined by the PM (it can be an activity related to a main subcontract or vendor or interfaces internal or external)
• Assist the Project Manager during project activity planning, e.g. in the preparation of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and other project procedures and plans
• Assist in the definition of the resource allocation and in the assessment of the man-hours required in order to prepare/update the Project Mobilization Plan (PMP)
• Coordinate specific topics (internal or external), related, but not only, to project management, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning
• Prepare the Project External Interfaces Management Procedure and identify, categorize and manage the Project External Interfaces
• Prepare the Project Risk Management Plan, manage the risk assessment and risk response activities issuing and quarterly updating the Project Risk Register
• Prepare the Project Spare Parts Procedure and supervise and coordinate the procurement and management process for the Project Two Years Spare Parts
• Prepare the Project Record Books (PRB) Procedure, define the indexes of the PRB, collect the relevant documentation (i.e.

Desired candidate profile

• Industry-Specific Experience: The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in the industry where the company operates (e.g., construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, power generation, infrastructure).
• Proven track record in delivering engineering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Certifications & Training:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is a strong plus.
• Six Sigma or Lean Management certifications can be beneficial for improving project efficiency and minimizing waste.
• Engineering-specific certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer, LEED accreditation for construction projects, Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for welding-related projects, etc.).
• Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) certifications for working in high-risk industries like oil & gas or construction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
2. Coordinate Engineering Teams: Lead multidisciplinary teams (e.g., design, construction, quality) to implement project specifications and goals.
3. Client & Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to report on progress, resolve issues, and align on expectations.
4. Budget & Cost Control: Oversee the development of project budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
5. Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
6. Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure that engineering work meets industry standards, quality expectations, and regulatory requirements.
7. Reporting: Provide status updates, performance reports, and progress documents to senior management and clients.
