Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager the Director of Commercial and Wellness Operations is accountable for the total topline performance of the Hotel. They will also oversee the operations of the wellness offerings at Sofitel London St James. They will determine and set strategic goals and implement tactical plans to achieve these which will drive revenue to the hotel across all streams: Rooms F&B outlets Conference and Events Spa & other ancillary revenues ensuring the results are monitored and achieved and displaying strong leadership across all functions within the team.

The Director of Commercial and Wellness Operations is responsible for leading and managing the performance of the topline Sales Marketing & Revenue Team and be involved in topline optimization of F&B outlets. This includes overseeing the planning and development of promotional strategies and marketing plans; management of the Sales Marketing and Revenue teams and reporting on the effectiveness of tactics strategies and action plans. They will have a particular focus on wellness and the Sofitel Spa operation to optimize our positioning and operational consistency working alongside the Spa Manager to increase the awareness and performance of the Spa.

As the leader of the topline team the focus must be to achieve or exceed the budgeted Room Conference and Events F&B Outlets and Spa revenues for Sofitel London St James. Key areas include coordinating the hotel sales and marketing plans by recommending growth efforts monitoring progress on repositioning the hotel within the London Luxury market alongside the proposed renovation plans over the next few years.


Qualifications :

  • Strong analytical skills project planning and management skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop solutions to these challenges.
  • Assertive professional and positive with excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing to effectively sell and communicate with audiences that could include Heads of State Company CEOs etc.
  • Composed and confident in dealing with luxury clientele excellent presentation skills and a strategic thinker.
  • Strong understanding of SEO SEM and online marketing strategies.
  • Successful experience with other international Hotel chains international experience is a plus
  • Fluent in English French is a plus
  • Flexibility to travel in Europe long haul where needed and host evening FAM trips
