Job Description
Role Summary
As a Survey Crew Chief you will play a vital role in leading field surveys and ensuring accuracy efficiency and quality in all surveying operations. Youll oversee the operation calibration and maintenance of survey equipment while mentoring and motivating survey staff within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Survey Operations: Operate calibrate and demonstrate proficiency in all surveying equipment to deliver precise highquality results.
- Leadership & Teamwork: Support and guide survey staff enhancing team productivity and motivation.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all work meets accuracy standards and budget targets.
- Truck & Equipment Management: Maintain organize and operate survey vehicles and equipment effectively.
- Workflow Optimization: Offer ideas for improving efficiency and cost savings.
- Safety Commitment: Promote safety and prepare daily for work in diverse environments.
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Survey Crew Chief (preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates).
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read interpret and apply construction plans; adept at utilizing and learning new technologies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to take direction and communicate clearly.
- Licensing: Must hold a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Physical Ability: Able to stand walk lift and carry equipment and frequently perform actions such as stooping kneeling or crouching.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with private and municipal sector clients.
- Willingness to travel for project requirements.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor Work: This role requires working outdoors and being prepared for various weather conditions.
- Flexibility: Overtime and occasional travel as needed to meet project demands.
