Job Description
Position: Certified Surgical Technologist(CST) CVOR
Start Date: 11/18/2024
Duration: 13 weeks
Location: Lima OH 45804
Shift Type/Shift Times/Hours/Day: Days7:00 AM 5:30 PM 10
Shift Notes: 40 Hour Guarantee
Weekend Requirements: As Needed
OnCall Requirements: One Week of Calls per month

Traveler Policy: All Travelers will be expected/required to float to units within their scope of practice and skill set. Should a traveler refuse to float the client reserves the right to send the traveler home without pay for the entire work week.

Functioning within the Health Systems mission values objectives procedures and policies the Surgical Technologist functions within a collaborative approach along with all members of perioperative services to provide quality patient care. The Surgical Technologist assists in the delivery of care for the surgical patient. Case preparation responsibilities include schedule and booking sheet review to verify necessary equipment to be available and complete. The Surgical Technologist assists in moving and positioning the patient per the Surgeons guidelines; participates in time out to confirm the procedure and surgeon; and drapes the patient within the surgeons guidelines. The Surgical Technologist also assists the Surgeon with the case as directed including providing retraction of tissue for optimal visualization demonstrating retraction and instrument technique. The Surgical Technologist functions in all areas of Surgical Services including but not limited to General Ortho OB/GYN Open Heart Podiatry Robotics Urology Neuro Vascular ENT Plastics Hybrid Robotic and Laser cases. Judgments are made based on clinical skills. Once training is completed the Surgical Technologist will be expected to be part of the oncall rotation in the respective area of training. Oncall response time within 30 minutes is required. The oncall frequency will be determined following departmental guidelines.

- Must be a graduate of a surgical technology program Required
- Must be flexible cannot accommodate blocked schedules etc.
