Description:
Working under the direction of a Harvard manager assist with and coordinate digital marketing and advertising campaigns. Work with Harvard managers to identify marketing goals audiences and messaging. Research and recommend available markets and channels. Assist with the development of digital marketing plans and related deliverables. Produce digital marketing copy and content as needed. Coordinate production of non digital aspects of marketing campaigns. Review deliverables from ad agencies contracted by Harvard third party designers or other creatives for acceptability relative to Harvard s requirements expectations and brand standards. Solid knowledge and on the job experience with paid and owned social media podcast sponsorship digital display and email (eblasts and newsletters) advertising. Solid knowledge and on the job experience with paid search search engine optimization and web analytics.
May use web analytics to prepare regular reporting and analysis (trends key metrics results) for digital campaigns. May serve as subject matter expert on digital advertising efforts digital marketing product capabilities and digital media trends.
Will liaise with and represent Harvard s interests needs and requirements with publishers advertising agencies suppliers and creative resources to ensure successful project execution. Will conduct periodic audits of invoices budgets and media plans to optimize Harvard s media investment.
Required technical skills: Intermediate or better proficiency in typical Microsoft Office products. Basic knowledge of HTML CSS and Photoshop as well as web analytics. Additional skills with products like Salesforce CRM may be helpful.

- Additional Job Details : Email Marketing Manager (Temporary Position) Overview: This position is a temporary role to support the Email Marketing team while the Email Marketing Manager is on maternity leave. The temporary Email Marketing Manager will work closely with the Associate Director of Email Marketing Email Marketing Specialist Project Managers and the web team to manage daily operations of email marketing projects within External Relations at Harvard Business School. This role requires sound judgment flexibility and the ability to thrive in a collaborative fastpaced ideadriven and creative environment. Key Responsibilities: Manage realtime updates of the internal email calendar (Excel) and departmentwide SharePoint calendar. Build emails within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and perform list pulls data extension management and list segmentation. Execute and manage email campaigns for event and program invitations enewsletters eappeals and donor communications coordinating with External Relations partners (Alumni Marketing Alumni Relations Development Communications Development). Pull and analyze email metrics from Salesforce Marketing Cloud and CVENT highlighting segmented data. Provide weekly updates and compile a comprehensive report after each event/program communication series. Manage recurring communications: weekly donor acknowledgments monthly Investor Society Welcome emails FirstTime Donor Welcome and recurring gift reminders. Create and maintain project setups in Workfront including assigning stakeholders updating project statuses and ensuring deadlines are met. Archive sent emails as PDFs and maintain the digital teams project database. Collaborate with the team on adhoc email tasks including list combination sorting and variable management. Basic Qualifications: 5 years of experience including 3 years managing email and web projects. Strong project management experience preferably with cloudbased workflow systems like Workfront. Proficiency in email automation tools (Salesforce Marketing Cloud CVENT preferred) and HTML/CSS for email. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills for segmentation and data analysis. Familiarity with email marketing metrics lead nurturing marketing automation and web analytics. Additional Qualifications and Skills: Experience troubleshooting email rendering issues especially for Outlook on desktop. Knowledge of web analytics tools marketing automation and trends in digital marketing. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadlinedriven environment. Critical thinker with a sense of ownership autonomy and pride in work. Working knowledge of relevant terminology and technologies including Adobe Photoshop CANSPAM GDPR CASL VLookups alttags bounce rates deliverability and clickthrough rates.
