Subsea Pipeline Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

▪ Lead the Subsea Mechanical and Structural Engineering activities in accordance with Project requirements within the assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards. Ensure compliance with all Project interfaces and supervise in/out information flow

▪ Maintain and develop technical skills, expertise, knowledge, procedures and tools as required for proposals and project execution

▪ Ensure the capitalisation of Project experience in order to improve and harmonize work methodologies

Tasks

Planning, co-ordination and control of engineering activities of the department/project

▪ Propose resources for tender/project organization and appoint the selected personnel

▪ Control the dept. programme schedule of projects

▪ Ov erview the engineering activities and provide technical support to the dept. PSLs whenever necessary

▪ Identify project and contract hot spots and criticalities

▪ Identify project and activity priorities

▪ Optimise technical engin eering processes to achieve reduced time and costs

▪ Overview the management of interfaces with other disciplines and with construction/installation activities

▪ Overview requisitioning and technical bid evaluations

Management of resources

▪ Develop personnel skills and flexibility through work assignments and responsibility and through attendance at seminars and courses

▪ Evaluate the personnel performance according to Saipem system

▪ Motivate the personnel and support full integration with Saipem departments and activities

▪ Optimise the usage of external vs internal resources (make or buy policy)

▪ Select personnel if new resources are required

▪ Advise On Sub-contractors Qualifications

▪ Provide support for dept. budget estimate, control and forecast

▪ Approve personnel time sheets and missions

Quality assurance policy

▪ Contribute to the definition, implementation and improvement of the quality system

▪ Develop standardisation, define procedures for the dept. engineering and coordinate the software validation

▪ Implement and control any preventive/corrective actions arising from audits or certification requirements

Desired candidate profile

• Project Experience: Proven track record of working on subsea projects, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of subsea systems.

Technical Skills

• Subsea Systems Knowledge: In-depth understanding of subsea equipment and systems, including subsea trees, pipelines, control systems, and umbilicals.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., ANSYS, OrcaFlex, AutoCAD) for subsea design and simulation.
• Regulatory Standards: Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to subsea operations (e.g., DNV, API, ISO).

Project Management Skills

• Planning and Coordination: Experience in project planning, execution, and management, particularly for subsea projects.
• Budget Management: Ability to develop and manage budgets related to subsea engineering tasks.

Communication and Collaboration

• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including offshore engineers, geologists, and environmental specialists.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication skills for presenting technical information and engaging with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
