Title: Contour Operations Support Engineer
Location: Midland NC
Duration: 3 months
Description:
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Assess performance gaps and opportunities for new process equipment.
Recommend improvements based on gap analysis of process flow.
Generate designs based on agreed to solutions.
Draft quote packages and obtain competing quotes from vendors.
Deploy prototypes and down select designs based on functionality and performance.
Develop and update engineering and operations documentation.
Provide engineeringlevel production support to manufacturing operation.
Identify chronic issues and recommend corrective actions.
Provide training for operations/technical workforce regarding equipment or operations changes.
Qualification:
BS or MS in Mechanical Industrial Ceramics or other applicable Engineering discipline
35 years of engineering work experience in a manufacturing/production environment
Required Skills:
Mechanical design experience with parametric modeling and technical drafting
Follow structured problemsolving methodology when assessing and recommending solutions.
Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly.
Strong technical fundamentals with process engineering skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize work on an independent basis.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Basic understanding of troubleshooting and safety requirements in manufacturing environment
Works well in a team environment.
Willingness to be hands on with the equipment and interact with the operations environment.
Desired Skills:
Experience with experimental design.
Project management experience.
Experience with applying statistical principles and using software such as Minitab or JMP.
Experience with polymer or acrylate coatings.
Experience with glass forming and coating application processes.
