Job Description

Position Overview: We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Patient Access / Medical Billing Specialist to support billing coding and patient access functions. This role involves managing medical billing preparing schedules ensuring adequate coverage processing payroll and verifying census accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a background in medical billing knowledge of CPT and ICD10 coding and experience in patient financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Billing & Coding: Perform medical billing and coding tasks ensuring accurate use of CPT and ICD10 codes.

  • Staffing & Scheduling: Prepare department schedules ensure coverage and participate in the staffing pattern as needed including rotating oncall duties.

  • Payroll Processing: Manage payroll for the department ensuring timely and accurate processing.

  • Productivity Monitoring: Systematically monitor individual and team productivity and quality conducting focused reviews and supporting goal attainment.

  • Policy Development: Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

  • Census & Record Accuracy: Verify daily census statistics correct duplicate medical record numbers and insurance errors and provide feedback and training to improve processes.



Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Experience:

    • Prior experience in a medical office setting with knowledge of medical terminology CPT and ICD10 coding.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Patient Access and/or Patient Financial Services.
    • Experience with cash collections and balancing.
