SEN Support Assistant Inclusive School Westminster

Responsibilities:

  • Provide oneonone and small group support to students with additional needs helping them to engage with the curriculum effectively and confidently.
  • Assist teachers in implementing individualized learning plans tailored to the specific requirements of students with learning difficulties.
  • Help create a positive learning environment by encouraging participation and building rapport with students ensuring they feel safe and valued.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and the SEN team to adapt classroom activities resources and assessments to enhance accessibility for all learners.
  • Support students in developing their social skills emotional resilience and confidence facilitating positive interactions with peers.
  • Monitor and track student progress contributing insights and feedback to teachers to inform ongoing support and adjustments in learning strategies.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and understanding of special educational needs and inclusive practices.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a school setting particularly with students who have learning difficulties or special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children in their educational journey with a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with students parents and colleagues.
  • A patient empathetic and proactive approach to supporting diverse learners in overcoming challenges.
  • A clear DBS check is required to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
