Are you ready to work handson with semiconductor manufacturing equipment As an Engineering Technician II youll provide critical customer support for onsite installations repairs and maintenance of photolithography semiconductor equipment primarily in Hillsboro Oregon. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with cuttingedge technology supporting processes in a preproduction environment alongside a dedicated team.
Training
- Initial training of 12 weeks in Austin Texas or Japan followed by 4 weeks of onthejob training in Hillsboro Oregon.
- This position requires fulltime presence at assigned offices worksites or territories.
Note: This role operates on a night shift with a compressed work schedule requiring flexibility to adjust hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure equipment is maintained and functions within factory specifications.
- Train customers on the operation and upkeep of the system equipment.
- Conduct maintenance repairs and unit replacements following factory protocols independently or with a team.
- Provide technical support to customers resolving inquiries about procedures malfunctions and other issues to minimize downtime and maintain strong customer relations.
- Report equipment errors and update status for performance issues to assist in troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Document activities accurately and provide regular reports.
- Collaborate with other field technicians to service and troubleshoot equipment.
Qualifications
This is a customerfacing role that requires compliance with customer policies and protocols which may include COVID19 vaccination or related measures.
- Knowledge of Linux OS is beneficial for operating and troubleshooting systems.
- Associates degree or equivalent experience required (Bachelors preferred) with 23 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in handson mechanical and electronic testing skills is essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under challenging conditions.
- Experience with optical systems lasers software robotics precision mechanics or chemicals is advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous customer support experience is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment for extended periods including wearing full cleanroom attire (suit facemask gloves safety glasses).
Additional Requirements
- Flexible availability for scheduling and travel with up to 25% car air and overnight travel required (valid drivers license and acceptable driving record necessary).
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently with assistance available for heavier loads.
- Must meet visual acuity standards for extensive reading inspection and precision tasks.
- Physical activities may include standing walking typing and frequent movements such as grasping crouching and occasionally climbing stairs or ladders.
- Work environments may involve proximity to mechanical parts exposure to chemicals and UV light and lasers.
