Position: Project Engineer (Power Systems)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our team in Pasadena California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering with specific expertise in power systems. This role involves overseeing project execution ensuring quality safety and timely completion of power system projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage power system projects ensuring alignment with scope timelines and budget.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Field and Shop Technicians ensuring high standards of safety and performance.
- Coordinate between Project Managers field teams and other departments to ensure seamless project execution.
- Assess the technical performance of Field and Shop Technicians and perform annual reviews to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Develop and implement procedures to improve project and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate current test equipment and make recommendations for future purchases.
- Ensure field compliance with safety standards such as NFPA 70E OSHA and Cal OSHA. Conduct random field audits to assess safety and quality.
- Lead investigations into project deficiencies facilitating corrective actions.
- Respond promptly to daily communications from customers and team members ensuring smooth project coordination.
- Track coordinate and deliver technical and safety training for field personnel.
- Review and approve final project reports ensuring accuracy and quality.
Requirements
Technical Expertise:
- Experience with electrical testing on low and medium voltage equipment including substations switchgears circuit breakers instrument transformers protective relays motor control centers transformers and grounding systems.
- Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) OSHA IEEE and NFPA standards.
- Familiarity with NETA standards for acceptance maintenance and commissioning of electrical systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the power systems industry.
- NETA or NICET Certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70B (Electrical Maintenance) and NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace).
- Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work onsite and adapt to project demands.
Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related technical field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the power systems industry.
