Job Title: Data Privacy Officer(US Citizen Only)
Location: Remote
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Create implement and maintain comprehensive data privacy policies and procedures in alignment with legal requirements (e.g. GDPR CCPA).
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of data processing activities identifying potential compliance risks and recommending corrective actions.
- Manage and respond to data subject requests (access rectification erasure etc.) efficiently and in compliance with legal timelines.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees on data protection principles and best practices to foster a culture of privacy awareness.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new projects products and processes to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
- Lead investigations into data breaches or security incidents coordinating with relevant teams to develop response strategies and report findings to stakeholders.
- Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory authorities and work closely with internal teams including IT legal and marketing to ensure data protection measures are integrated into business processes.
- Maintain detailed records of processing activities and ensure appropriate documentation is in place for compliance audits.
- Stay updated on evolving data protection regulations industry trends and best practices and implement necessary changes to policies and procedures.
- Assess thirdparty vendors for data privacy compliance ensuring contracts include appropriate data protection clauses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Law Information Technology Business Administration or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in data privacy compliance or a related field with a track record of success in similar roles.
- Indepth knowledge of global data protection laws and regulations (e.g. GDPR CCPA HIPAA).
- Strong understanding of data security principles risk management and privacyenhancing technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them practically.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders including executives technical teams and external partners.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Professional certification in data protection (e.g. CIPP CIPM or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Experience in conducting training sessions and workshops on data privacy is a plus.
- Federal Experience is a plus.
- Required Security clearance.
