Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Hoffman Estates IL
Essential Job Functions:
The Staff Accountant will maintain general ledger accounts process Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable and prepare various accounting and financial reports including intercompany transactions vendor payments and meeting materials. To perform this role successfully the individual must be able to fulfill each essential function satisfactorily. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Process vendor invoices and employee reimbursements by obtaining payment authorization.
- Prepare invoices for customers and affiliated companies.
- Maintain a positive driven and solutionoriented approach to daily tasks.
- Utilize strong critical thinking skills to research and analyze complex challenges.
- Provide highlevel support while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Reconcile customer and vendor accounts.
- Record expenses for tax payments and prepare tax forms.
- Maintain and file accounting documents.
- Prepare monthend and fiscal yearend closing.
- Prepare annual 1099 statements; update and maintain vendor records.
- Perform general account reconciliations including bank statements fixed assets accruals and prepaid expenses.
- Assist in audit preparation.
- Review internal processes and controls to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare review and analyze monthly budgettoactual variance reports.
- Work efficiently and accurately to meet critical deadlines.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a Businessrelated discipline preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Strong human relations skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Welldeveloped problemsolving skills and the ability to develop conceptual alternatives.
- Advanced mathematical and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload to meet reporting deadlines.
