Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated selfstarter to join our Executive Team as a Project Associate. Reporting directly to both the President of the Foundation (Manuel Mattke) and the Chief of Schools (James Troupis) this role is ideal for someone either early in their career or seeking a new career pivot and is eager to gain exposure to a wide array of functions within the organization. The Project Associate will contribute to highimpact initiatives across departments ensuring the seamless execution of executivelevel projects.
The successful candidate will be a quick learner thrive in a fastpaced missiondriven environment and bring a strong work ethic and a passion for making a difference.
About Opportunity Education Foundation
Opportunity Education founded in 2005 is a charitable foundation that develops and supports transformational learning programs for young adults globally. It has served over 1 million students and 5000 teachers across 1500 schools in 12 countries.
Using its expertise in learning science OE created Quest Forward Learning a method and curriculum focused on active learning and feedback for high school students. In 2017 OE established Quest Forward High Schools in California and Nebraska based on these principles.
Now OE is scaling its impact by building a network of schools across the U.S. offering academic success and postsecondary preparation as a model for schools nationwide. OE will launch two new charter schools Des Moines IA and Cedar Rapids IA in fall 2025 and plans to open two new schools annually for the next five years.
Key Responsibilities
While responsibilities will likely evolve initial duties include but are not limited to:
Supporting the President and Chief of Schools on highpriority initiatives across the organization
Coordinating and managing executivelevel projects including crossfunctional team collaboration
Preparing presentations reports budgets and other materials for executive meetings
Tracking project progress and ensuring timely completion of tasks across teams and schools
Conducting research and analysis to inform strategic decisionmaking
Maintaining fast effective communication with internal and external stakeholders including direct work with foundation and school staff
Providing administrative support when necessary to streamline executive operations
Ideal Candidate Profile
Proven excellent results built on an undeniably strong work ethic proven through education and/or work experience
Early career professional or career changer with experience in consulting project management or a related field
Excellent organizational skills attention to detail and timely followthrough
High level of adaptability and eagerness to learn across different functions
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to work independently particularly on projects with high degrees of ambiguity
Experience and/ or interest in K12 education
A passion for the mission of Opportunity Education
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this role is commensurate with experience with an expected starting range of $55000 $65000. Opportunity Education Foundation offers a comprehensive benefits package including health dental and vision coverage as well as opportunities for professional development and growth within the organization.
Location
This is a remote role that includes working with executives in all four US time zones. Candidates should have an ability and willingness to travel to OE s schools (California Nebraska Iowa) and to Chicago or Seattle as needed (10% travel). We have a strong preference for candidates based in the greater Chicago Omaha or Des Moines/Cedar Rapids areas.

Given direct work for the senior leadership team candidates that advance through the process should expect multiple rounds of interviews with a variety of stakeholders in the organization a performance task thorough reference checks and a blend of inperson and virtual interviews.
