You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailPOSITION: ULTRASONOGRAPHER Traveler Contract POSITION DETAILS Minimum hours required: 40 per week; guaranteed The shifts associated with this position will be staffed atthe Wells Campus location in Wells Maine. The shifts associated with thisposition would be five 8 hour days Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 with no call or weekends. We are looking for a candidate who provides excellentpatient care and high quality exams. We are looking for someone who brings outthe best in others and adds value to our team. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Staff members provide care appropriate to the condition andage of patients including geriatric pediatric and general population. Staffis responsible for the care and safety of patients and maintaining patientconfidentially at all times. Staff is responsible for communicating the missionand vision of the hospital as well as developing effective working relationshipswith patients physicians and path members. Jobspecific duties include but are not limited to: Performs clinical assessment and diagnosticsonography examinations Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identifyrecord and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical pathologicaldiagnostic information and images Uses independent judgment during the sonographicexam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings Analyses sonograms synthesizes sonographicinformation and medical history and communicates findings to the appropriatephysician Assumes responsibility for the safety mentaland physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer s care Maintains accurate patient records Maintains ultrasound equipment and work areaand maintains adequate supplies Establishes and maintains ethical workingrelationships and good rapport with all interrelating hospitals referral orcommercial agencies Demonstrates flexibility of schedule supportsoffshift call responding and ready to take patient within 30 minutes ofnotification PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Educationand Experience: Graduate of formal diagnostic medical sonography program Bachelorof Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (preferred) Activecertification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) At least2 years of experience preferred Individualmust have experience in general abdominal small parts vascular and OB/GYNincluding fetal survey scanning Flexibleand adaptable Worksindependently in a team environment PHYSICAL ABILITIES/WORK ENVIRONMENT Must havethe ability to read and communicate effectively. This job requires frequentstanding walking sitting pushing pulling reaching lifting and somerepetitive motions.
