Job Description
Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center is looking for Locum Trauma Surgeon.
- Dates of Coverage: ASAP until we hire a full timer
- Schedule: MF 7a4p 3 weeknights per week 4p7a Sat/Sun 7a7a call
- Reason for Coverage: Gaps while we recruit a full time surgeon
- Practice Setting: Hospital
- Average Number of Trauma Surgical Cases Per Day: 5
- Trauma Level/Designation: Level 1 Trauma
- Annual ER Volume: 80K
- Percentage of ED Patients Admitted to the Hospital: 35%
- Total Number of Beds: 617
- Documentation System/EMR: Epic
- Description of OR Staff: Full compliment
- Patient Age Demographic: Primarily Adult/Geri but occasionally child/adolescent
- Provider Must be Local Only Mileage is Reimbursed
Procedures Required:
- Trauma Cases ADULT
- Trauma Cases GERIATRIC
- PENETRATING Trauma Cases
- BLUNT Trauma Cases
- Chest Tube Insertion
Laparoscopic Procedures Required:
- Appendectomy
- Cholecystectomy
Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 3040 days to start if all licensure is active and good standing

Requirement description :
- Board Certified REQUIRED
- Fellowship Training REQUIRED
- Active CT License REQUIRED (can reconsider if no candidates available)
- ACLS REQUIRED
- Local Candidates Preferred
- DEA Verbal Confirmation Required at Name Clear
- Conversion rate cap 25k REQUIRED
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
- ACLS (AHA)
- Board Certified
- DEA
STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS :
- Connecticut
ADDITIONAL LICENSE REQUIREMENTS :
Weekend Requirements : Two weekend shifts Sat/ Sunday for 24 hours from 7am to next day 7am
On Call Requirements : 3 nights per week and weekends
