Roles and responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning:

• Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures that align with the organization’s overall goals.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate security risks.

2. Team Management:

• Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of the security team.
• Foster a culture of security awareness and professionalism among security personnel.

3. Security Operations:

• Manage daily security operations, including surveillance, access control, and emergency response protocols.
• Ensure that security personnel are adequately trained to respond to incidents, emergencies, and safety threats.

4. Incident Management:

• Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures to address security breaches, emergencies, and other incidents.
• Investigate security incidents and breaches, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

5. Compliance and Regulations:

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to security and safety.
• Stay informed about industry standards and best practices, implementing changes to maintain compliance.

6. Budget Management:

• Prepare and manage the security budget, ensuring cost-effective measures and resource allocation.
• Evaluate security technologies and services to optimize performance and cost.

7. Collaboration and Coordination:

• Collaborate with other departments, such as IT, facilities management, and human resources, to enhance security measures and policies.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency response agencies as needed.

8. Training and Awareness:

• Develop and implement security training programs for employees to raise awareness and promote a culture of security.
• Conduct drills and simulations to ensure preparedness for emergencies and security incidents.

9. Monitoring and Reporting:

• Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras and alarm systems, to ensure effective operation.
• Prepare regular reports on security activities, incidents, and trends for senior management.

10. Crisis Management:

• Develop and lead crisis management plans, ensuring readiness for various scenarios, including natural disasters, workplace violence, and other emergencies.
• Act as a primary contact during crises, coordinating responses and communications.

Desired candidate profile

1. Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• Master’s Degree: A master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Security Management) is preferred.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are advantageous.

2. Professional Experience:

• Security Experience: 7-10 years of experience in security management, risk management, or related fields, with a proven track record of managing security operations.
• Leadership Experience: At least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role, demonstrating effective leadership skills and team management capabilities.

3. Core Competencies:

• Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and implement long-term security strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Risk Management: Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and the ability to identify and mitigate security risks.

4. Technical Skills:

• Security Technologies: Familiarity with advanced security technologies, including surveillance systems, access control, and alarm systems.
• Data Analysis: Proficient in analyzing security data to inform decision-making and enhance security protocols.
