Roles and responsibilities
- Greets guests and presents them with the menu.
- Informs guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any.
- Suggest food and beverages to the guest and try to upsell.
- Take food and beverage orders from the guest on the order taking pads or on the handheld Point of sale (POS) system.
- Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change.
- Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by Supervisor.
- Filling in for absent staff as needed.
- Punch the order on the POS machine and make sure to enter the special requirements made by the guest while ordering the food. Eg: No Garlic, less spicy etc., Without egg etc.
- Communicate to the guest and provide assistance with their queries.
- Co - ordinate with the bus person, kitchen staff, bar staff to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
- Server food and beverage to the guest as per the course of order.
- Observes guests and ensure their satisfaction with the food and service.
- Promptly respond to guest with any additional request.
- Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
- Prepare mixed drinks for service to your customer's table.

- Clean and reset tables quickly after guests depart.

- Present the bill to guests and process payments accurately.
- Handle cash and credit transactions responsibly.

- Work closely with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding guest needs and special requests.
Desired candidate profile
4* - 5* star Hotel Experience or Restaurant operation experience
Knowledge in Basic HACCP/Food Safety
Knowledge in MICROS
Previous experience in a similar role in a restaurant, café, or hospitality setting is preferred.
Familiarity with various dining styles and service techniques.
2. Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; further education in hospitality or food service is a plus.
Certifications in food safety or responsible alcohol service are advantageous.
3. Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on creating a positive dining experience.
Ability to take orders accurately and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
4. Knowledge:
Basic knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu items, preparation methods, and wine pairings.
Understanding of health and safety regulations in food service.
5. Personal Attributes:
Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a willingness to go the extra mile for guests.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the service area.
6. Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy trays, and carry multiple items at once.
