Job Description
Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: Wallingford CT 06492
Duration: 6 months (Potential extension)
Shift: 2 PM 10 PM
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled operator to set up and manage furnaces used in annealing strip products. This role includes operating various furnaces ovens and equipment to produce materials that meet specified shape hardness and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate all furnaces in the department.
- Operate annealing furnaces to achieve desired product specifications.
- Start shut down and adjust furnaces including controlling Nitrogen and Hydrogen levels.
- Operate aging ovens weld wire lines degreasing lines and Radcon furnaces.
- Perform quality checks using measuring devices to ensure product meets internal and customer standards.
- Complete required paperwork and document processes.
- Provide training for other operators as needed.
- Perform safety checks preventive maintenance and equipment maintenance.
- Handle multiple tasks daily and perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements:
- Basic computer skills for data entry.
- Strong attention to detail critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Ability to work weekends holidays and overtime.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk stand bend lift and perform repetitive motions.
- Capable of working with metal powders chemicals and industrial equipment.
- Must lift up to 50 lbs frequently and wear required PPE (hard hat safety glasses gloves etc.).
- Comfortable working around dust chemicals and in nonclimatecontrolled environments.
Work Environment:
The role is in a production area with moderate noise levels.
