Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

v

Oversee and elevate the performance of a specific culinary station, ensuring precision, efficiency, and excellence in food preparation.Champion Culinary Excellence: Enforce and uphold culinary standards, ensuring the consistency and quality of dishes in accordance with the restaurant's culinary vision.Sustain Culinary Organization: Ensure the organization, efficiency and cleanliness of your station, optimizing workflow and contributing to a well-maintained environment.Assist in Inventory Control: Support in monitoring and controlling inventory for your section, aiding in efficient stock management and minimizing waste.
Food Preparation:

Assist in the preparation of ingredients, sauces, and dishes according to recipes and specifications.
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.
Cooking:

Prepare and cook menu items during service periods, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food safety and quality.
Station Management:

Manage a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., pastry, grill, or sauté) under the supervision of the CDP.
Organize and maintain cleanliness of the workstation, ensuring it meets health and safety regulations.
Inventory Control:

Assist in ordering and managing inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
Monitor stock levels and report any shortages or needs to the CDP.
Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service.
Communicate effectively with the CDP and other team members regarding preparation and cooking timelines.
Training and Mentoring:

Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff or apprentices.
Share knowledge of techniques and best practices to improve team performance.
Quality Control:

Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards and meet the restaurant’s quality expectations.
Conduct tastings and provide feedback on flavors and presentation.
Health and Safety Compliance:

Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Participate in regular kitchen cleanliness and safety audits.
Skills Required
Culinary Skills: Proficiency in cooking techniques and a strong understanding of flavor profiles.
Time Management: Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines during service.
Teamwork: Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with kitchen staff.
