We are seeking a passionate and motivated Pastry Kitchen Commis 3 to support our pastry department. In this entry-level position, you will work under the guidance of experienced pastry chefs, learning the fundamentals of pastry production and contributing to our diverse menu of desserts and baked goods.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation and Production: Assist in the preparation and production of various pastries, desserts, and baked goods. Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency in quality and presentation.
Ingredient Management: Help with the inventory of ingredients, ensuring that all necessary supplies are stocked and organized. Assist in the proper storage of ingredients to maintain freshness and quality.
Kitchen Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to health and safety regulations. Ensure that all tools, equipment, and surfaces are sanitized and ready for use.
Support Team Members: Collaborate effectively with fellow team members, including senior pastry chefs, to complete daily tasks and special orders. Be open to feedback and instruction to improve skills and techniques.
Quality Control: Participate in tasting and evaluating products to maintain high-quality standards. Report any issues with ingredients or finished products to senior staff.
Learning and Development: Take initiative in learning new skills and techniques related to pastry production. Attend training sessions and actively seek mentorship from experienced chefs.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school training in pastry arts is a plus.
Experience: Prior experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, but not required. A strong passion for pastry and a willingness to learn are essential.
Skills: Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and a creative mindset are highly valued.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a hot kitchen environment.
