We are hiring a Program Manager (Data Specialist Consultant) for one of our clients in Trenton NJ.
Job Description:
The Client is seeking a Data Specialist (Consultant) to assist in managing and analyzing data from programmatic databases. Supervised by Project Manager Data Management in the Office of Data Management and Reporting the Data Specialist will work closely with the Office of Applied Research and Evaluation Division on Women and Division of Family and Community Partnerships to understand the analytic and reporting needs of programs and create efficient processes that will help DCF program leads and leadership process and readily utilize data ongoingly. Additionally this role will oversee the improvement of data collection and reporting processes. There will also be administrative tasks related to data collection and sharing.
- The Data Specialist will engage in the following activities in this role:
- Manage data systems & data collection efforts
- Draft refine and maintain data collection tools systems and databases
- Oversee use of data systems become an expert in navigating and pulling data from data systems
- Check data for accuracy; develop and execute data cleaning and management protocols
- Maintain documentation of data collection activities including data files data dictionaries and codebooks
- Meet weekly or biweekly with other data system stakeholders to collaborate around shared database and reporting needs
- Provide technical assistance and training as needed to program and provider staff on data entry report generation and use of data systems
- Collaborate and communicate around findings and needed improvements
- Partner with research and programmatic staff on data and evaluation projects
- Support the development and maintenance of interactive data dashboards reports and visualizations using MS Excel and Tableau/Power BI
- Collaborate with stakeholder groups to interpret data and develop recommendations.
- Assist with administrative tasks
- Send/share data with necessary stakeholders both internal and external to DCF as well as to the federal government
- Manage distribution of online data collection tools
Education Required:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university in a discipline appropriate to the position. Degree or coursework in data science preferred.
Experience Required:
- Minimum (3) years of experience managing and analyzing data
- Experience managing and analyzing data in Excel Tableau and/or Power BI
- Experience creating data visualizations dashboards and analytical reports in Excel Tableau/PowerBI
- SQL & Python experience is a plus.
Working hours:
- Hybrid mostly remote office approx. 1x per month (Varies 2535 hours per week)
- Lunch period: 1 hour
- Average of 2035 hours per week (hours per week will vary)
