We are excited to announce an opening for a GIS Developer to join our innovative team in Taif, Saudi Arabia. This role is crucial for developing and implementing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) solutions tailored to the needs of our diverse clients. As a GIS Developer, you will work at the intersection of technology and geography, contributing to impactful projects that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency for municipal agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibilities will include utilizing ESRI software for GIS application development and maintenance. You will be instrumental in establishing integrated systems for GIS, ensuring that our solutions are seamlessly aligned with the operational requirements of municipal agencies. A significant part of your role will involve supporting needs assessments for various departments, helping them evaluate their GIS needs and identifying effective solutions.
You will also leverage spatial analysis tools to facilitate data-driven decision-making processes. Continuing to build and enhance the GIS capabilities for municipal agencies will be a core aspect of your work. Your programming expertise will be essential in improving our software development capabilities, allowing us to create more sophisticated and efficient GIS applications.
Your technical skills will come into play as you manage and analyze spatial data using databases such as Oracle and SQL Server. This role will also require you to tackle complex programming challenges, ensuring the development of robust and reliable GIS solutions.
Desired candidate profile
Requirements:
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Geospatial Science, or a related field. You should have 3-5 years of experience in GIS development and implementation, demonstrating a solid understanding of the GIS landscape and its applications.
Technical Skills:
To excel in this position, proficiency in ESRI software, including ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online, is essential. You should have a strong knowledge of GIS programming languages such as Python and JavaScript, along with familiarity with spatial databases like PostGIS and SQL Server Spatial.
A robust skill set in programming languages such as C#, ASP.NET, and VB.NET is required, with additional familiarity in technologies like AJAX, HTML5, Silverlight, Flex, and JavaScript. Knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop, ArcObjects, ArcGIS Server, Python, and ArcSDE will be a significant advantage.
