Job Description

This is a remote position.

Analyse and prepare financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures provide strategic recommendations and determine solutions to business and financial problems.

  • Prepare Cash flow GST / FBT and other statutory reporting as required.
  • Monitor manage and support taxation issues within the practice.
  • Research complex tax law and communicate findings to clients and/or stakeholders.
  • Prepare individual company partnership trust and soletrader tax returns in line with lodgment deadlines.
  • Prepare IAS / BAS / FBT and Div 7A for financial reporting and client services.
  • Prepare Depreciation / Asset and Loan Registers.
  • Prepare all relevant working papers.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all statutory deadlines and submission of returns for clients by the deadline.
  • Liaise directly with clients to request further information and maintain client communications.
  • Manage Junior Accounting and Bookkeeping Staff.
  • Support Manager in the performance of their duties.
  • Promptly informs the Manager of any issues with accounts.
  • Maintains and builds a supportive and effective team culture.
  • Upholds and promotes the firm s values.3
  • Maintains the highest ethical and professional standards.

Requirements

SKILLS:
  • Intermediate to Advanced Skills with XERO.
  • Intermediate Word and Excel skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 6 years experience in Accounting.
  • At least 3 years experience in Australian tax law.
  • Experience managing a team is highly regarded.

Minimum 2 years experience in an accounts assistant role within a law firm Experience in Practice Evolve or similar legal software system Experience in legal professional services Proficient in Excel/spreadsheets
