CAD Operator

Roles and responsibilities

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Sr. CAD Operator to join our team! In this role you will get to utilize your skills in production of wet utility systems.

What You'll Be Doing

Develop and maintain drawings in alignment with Client CAD standards
Work closely with civil engineers and other team members to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Conduct quality checks and revisions as needed to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability.
Develop Templates, subassemblies, pipe parts and smart blocks
Develop alignments, profiles, and corridors and be familiar with creating and consuming Data shortcut
1. Drafting and Design:

Create detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
Develop design layouts, schematics, and 3D models based on specifications provided by engineers or architects.
Ensure accuracy in dimensions, annotations, and details in all drawings.
2. Revision and Updates:

Modify existing CAD drawings as required to reflect changes in design or specifications.
Maintain organized records of revisions and ensure that the latest versions are available for project teams.
3. Collaboration:

Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand design requirements and project objectives.
Participate in project meetings to discuss design progress and address any technical issues.
4. Quality Control:

Conduct checks to ensure that all drawings comply with industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies in design documents.
5. Documentation:

Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation related to design processes and project specifications.
Assist in the preparation of project reports and presentations as needed.

Desired candidate profile

Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in AutoCAD
Proven experience as a Sr. CAD Operator, specifically with wet utilities and infrastructure projects.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD software and other relevant tools.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

Experience with other civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM Navis Manger works.
Familiarity with local codes and regulations related to wet utilities and infrastructure.
Assist junior CAD staff or interns by providing guidance and support as needed.
Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster a collaborative work environment.
Additional Responsibilities (if applicable):

Participate in site visits to gather measurements and assess conditions for design purposes.
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and project timelines.
